Hey Guys! Happy Halloween! I got this Skeleton costume and I decided to make a dance vid.. It was rather spontaneous.. Although I have been inspired during the year by a philosopher named Carl Jung and when I got this costume I thought I could integrate some ideas with this year's Halloween theme. Carl Jung had a really cool theory about the 'shadow self' - he said that "Everyone carries a shadow," "and the less it is embodied in the individual's conscious life, the blacker and denser it is" (Jung). When I started researching it, I became fascinated with the idea of the shadow and one's darkness wanting to creep its way out. So this video plays with the idea of the Shadow Self haunting the conscious self - and how the shadow self wishes to fight its way back into the light.. Meaning, that the darker elements about our personality are not meant to be surpressed/judged rather they wish to be surfaced in creative forms which can help us be more whole.
