I got one of these rad t-shirts this week - it's a new label called 'Filthy Look Apparel' - just love the colour and the fabric of the t-shirt feels lush! I don't usually post about much I'm wearing but I find this very brand very appealing - the vibe of beach, bondi, chillin, hangin out, surf - vintage! They sell them online @ http://www.filthylook.com fast shipping and awesome quality :) Go check em out and here they are on fb @ https://www.facebook.com/filthylook

KOREAN WEB FEST!!!
Lost in LA has just been officially selected for the Korean Web Series Festival screening in July! It is such an honour to have my web series travelling the world and seeing new countries. Congratulations to all the cast and crew who work on the show :)
SYDNEY MORNING HERALD REVIEW THIS WEEK!
Ok... Well this would have to be one of the most exciting reviews for Lost in LA all year!! The Sydney Morning Herald is a massive publication in Australia and Lost in LA got reviewed in 'The Guide' section where all the latest stuff on TV/film/streaming gets coverage.. I'm really happy about the write-up, I think the critic Brad Newsome wrote about it superbly - I was amazed how he could sum up the show in such a poignant way and still tell people what they needed to know about it. Thrilled to have my first review in such a big Aussie newspaper #proud

AVATAR SELF TEST EPISODE SEASON 3 EPISODE 8
Ok.. It's finally here! Here is the latest episode of Lost in LA inspired by the one and only James Cameron.. My thinking behind this episode? Apart from thinking it would be a hilarious idea.. I didn't just want it to be a parody idea of Avatar, I wanted to ground it in as much truth as possible.. I was inspired by the concept of 'struggle' behind 'creativity' itself. I think when struggle is present, it can't help but reflect in the thought processes of what the character's are going through. I wanted to capture the desperation and urgency that underlies taking action when it is driven by delusional aspirations. In this case, the delusional aspirations are entertaining the idea of James Cameron considering Candace for an Avatar sequel. Furthermore, juxtaposition is always very important in my work, Therefore I started the episode off as a cringey self-test that then turns into quite a relateable conflict between two friends. The irony then flips when 'Alex' who is doing Candace's make-up is completely delusional herself. It then becomes a case of the 'blind leading the blind' - a familiar Hollywood theme that resonates with the idea of trying to 'fluke' something. Those are my much beloved themes :)

BLUE HAIR
Working on a new episode right now in editing, it's a short sketch, funny again..and a little bit different from the other episodes. Can't wait to share it with you! Here's a little screen shot from it. Kirstie Munoz the other actress and I (she plays Alex in the show) shot it together at Griffith Park in Hollywood. We had soooo much fun shooting that day because it was kind of spontaneous, I came up with the script the day before and we just went for it. Have some exciting news to share with you next post!

THE MASTURBATOR
Ok, I'm going for a double post today.. Because there is just so much happening.. I just completed and released the next episode of my web series LOST IN LA. I don't know if people realise or not... I edit all the episodes.. So I guess you could call me an editor.. Although I only have time to edit for myself (with LOST IN LA) these days.. I'm a self taught editor which means I learnt on the job and researched how to do it on my own. I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. I have been editing on and off for about 10 years. I started really young on like a crappy version of an old imovie.. haha.. But it has paid off as they were the early beginnings. So what I want to share with you today are some little in's and out's from this episode.. I drew my inspiration for writing this episode from being actually flashed by a random in LA.. Strange things always happen in LA.. Trust me! Also, I knew that if I wanted the episode to really work I would need believable sketches (the police props in the episode) so I used my drawing skills and drew the sketches myself, I actually really enjoyed that part of it. I like being able to exploit my own skills as sometimes when you're film making you can get over whelmed by so many other things you can't control. By using your own skills you kind of take it back in your own hands. Also, drawing is such a handy asset to have in film making not only for story boarding but for occasions like this.
It's always sooooo much fun working with Jared Van Doorn who plays Jeffrey in the scene with me.. He has a great style to his character and acting. Also, I love working with Cheol-Woo Park who captures the footage, he is amazing and never gives himself enough credit :) In case you're wandering, I keep my crew very small and focus on the script and the actors as much as I can.
Thanks for watching and feel free to ask me anything
Second Photo shoot with Photographer Paul Alvarez Jr
I had such a wonderful experience last week working with Photographer Paul Alvarez Jr that I decided to work again with him! I think he is amazing! It's so nice when you meet someone you feel comfortable working with and then it's also a bonus when you like their style of photography! And I adore Paul's style. He's really able to capture the character, mood and the atmosphere of the shot which reminds me a lot of a film. I think his work comes across very cinematic. I love his eye for colour and textures and he really has a way of using his backgrounds:) This is on location in Venice, California.
Thanks for checking them out!! Let me know your feedback in the comments.

Starting my blog up again a fresh! Photo shoot with Paul Alvarez Jr
Well.. For the last year, I kind of abandoned my blog! I'm so sorry! I got so busy with film making and so many projects travelling back and forth in between Los Angeles and Sydney that I sort of couldn't keep up with doing everything. But now I'm back and I'll be posting lots of bits and pieces, journalling and blogging the process... So to start off..... Hmmm.. Actually.. It's kind of hard to catch up all at once! So I figured I'll just post what's happening this week and hopefully the rest will sort of work itself out as I go along. So, for the last month (January) I have been filming in Los Angeles and I got the incredible opportunity to work with an amazing photographer named Paul Alvarez Jr also known as @papinc (on Instagram) Here is our work together:
Thanks for checking the photos out! Also, there are lots of big developments happening for Lost in LA and there will be some great news to announce later in 2015!
